Duane Furman, MPAS, PA-C

Duane is a 2000 graduate of MCP/Hahnemann in Philadelphia, where he met his wife, Kimberly. They have been married for 23 years and have an eleven-year-old daughter Abby, an 8-year-old dog named Fetch and a one-year-old parakeet named Kiwi. In 2003 he went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Infectious Diseases from the University of Nebraska Medical College.  Duane spent 19+ years at Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Hospital Infectious Diseases.  He presently serves as President and Medical Director at Katallasso Family Health Center in York, which he cofounded in 2013.  Katallasso is a nonprofit non fee-for-service health center established for the uninsured members of the York community and surrounding areas that are in need. Through a faith-based approach, Katallasso reaches our community members by showing that they are valued, they are cared for, and that they are loved despite where they may be in this season of their life.

Duane’s time in this season of my life is well balanced between caring for others through medicine, but most importantly being present and available for my family.  Pleasure time is spent swimming and having numerous social activities in our home for our family, neighbors, and friends. We believe there is no better way to live than to be in community with others through authentic relationships in life. Our time together also consists of kayaking, biking, fishing, the beach and hanging out on the farm that I grew up on in Northeast PA. The Furman family attends Genesis Church in Seven Valleys, PA, where Duane presently serves as an Elder.
